manderin | Supposedly venus opposite sun is a good aspect to have in a relationship, especially if venus is the woman. the synastry astrologer jewel mayberry agrees. Supposedly venus opposite Jupiter is also pretty good thing to have. I know someone who's venus opposes my Sun, Mercury, Venus AND Jupiter. Are all these oppositions a good thing? And it's HIS venus not mine. Though his venus also happens to trine my pluto. |
SleepyDiary | Really? I have found the opposite to be true. Ime esp with hard sun/venus aspects when the woman is the Venus the man might take her for granted and not appreciate her and when the man is Venus the woman doesn't fit the qualities he seeks and appreciates in a woman which is something he tends to realize more and more down the road and end up losing his attraction for her. Usually both people aren't each others types. I remember a guy´s sun squared my Venus he was so not my type and I was not his type either but I was for some reason still attracted to him we also had mars opposite Venus. But when I think about him today I feel kinda icky that I ever had sexual attraction for him because I can see now so clearly that he is not my type at all and I can`t believe I had sexual attraction for him. |
EmGem | Bump Interested to see more opinions on this one. I’m sun/mercury opposite his venus/Saturn (which conjuncts my Neptune) |
GrandFireT | Women of Venus in Aires (opposite my male Libra Sun) are often attractive to me, though that aspect in itself isn't necessarily going to cause singing in the rain. Unfortunately, I don't encounter this match very often and can't say how it would play out in nine innings. The reverse (Lady Sun opposite male Venus) has always been a major non-event for me. In my own personal relationships, I'm not aware that Jupiter has ever stimulated anything beyond a few friendly waves from curious drive-bys. But isn't that pretty much on par for Gemini?

A single aspect isn't going to tell you all this. Look at the composite. |

When I read about this aspect and I had already gone through it with him I related to almost everything that was said about it esp the part about not being each other types, being taken for granted and just being different from each other. But we also had mars opposite Venus which I have read can be a little similar to hard sun/venus aspects. I have also seen it play out the same way with other people sharing this aspect which is why I said in my own experience of this aspect I have found it not that great having it in synastry with someone even if their are some attraction. |

You had the square aspect which is not the same as the opposition. It's a different energy.

Selenite | the venus-sun opposition (especially a DW under 1 degree) is like an unavoidable magnet, IME. but they do produce a 'push-pull' effect. i'm not sure if ALL of them are good because you have to take the entire synastry into consideration. but i do believe the oppositions are completely different than the squares, which have only ended badly for me (signifying unrequited love of some sort). i don't trust the websites that group all hard aspects into one...

Me neither. I think that's just plain incorrect. Squares never feel like oppositions in synastry. Oppositions are way more fascinating, squares are usually just aggravating. |

I had the square but friends of mine had the opposition and it played out in a similar way. |

I think I read it on cafe astrology. |

I think I read it on cafe astrology, and also some comments from people that have experienced it on a site I don't really remember said the same. |

that could have been due to other icky stuff in their synastries |
Aries23Degrees | No aspect can be ALL good. And Venus is no exception. Venus tends towards excess when exaggerated or not kept within boundaries. |
